Adidas, founded all the way back in 1949 and an incredibly recognisable & dominant titan of a brand in the fashion industry, is entering the Metaverse. That’s right, the three stripes are coming to the Metaverse. Adidas have collaborated with the Bored Ape Yacht Club, as well as PUNKS Comic, and Gmoney NFT, to announce their entrance into the Metaverse. Users of the Adidas Mobile App would have found an article released by Adidas, within which was information all about this new development, including a quote from the developers behind this latest initiative:
This autumn, Adidas, known for celebrating ideas at the bleeding edge of originality, it settling in at the frontier of creativity: The Metaverse. Our goal there? To see every one of its inhabitants thrive. The Metaverse is where anyone can express their most original ideas and be their most authentic selves, in whatever form they might take. And thanks to the blockchain [and NFTs], those pioneers can own a piece of what they create.
A tweet was also posted to the @adidasoriginals account on Twitter that revealed the collaboration. Sharing the style of a team of 3 dropping into one of your favourite Battle Royale games, avatars for the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Gmoney NFT, and PUNKS Comic all flew down to Earth together, before the camera pans to them flying over a giant blue illuminated Adidas logo. It was kinda’ cool… But what does Adidas intend to do within the Metaverse?

Regardless of what the future brings, Adidas’ involvement in the Metaverse is only going to further embolden this new world and give further credit to the fact that the future is here. A brave new world full of limitless possibilities. It seems Adidas is ready, are you?
